I just read, over on Mel's site, about this delurking week...I'm genuinely interested to know who's out there reading. Are you a young single woman thinking single motherhood might be for you? Are you a married mom who nods her head in commiseration when I go on about parenting my daughter? Are you a fellow SMC? Do you have a blog I can follow you along on too? Are you a dad? Are you a single dude looking for a strong, independent woman, wink wink, nudge nudge?
Seriously though...peek out from the shadows...I've recently allowed anonymous comments again (I had to turn them off as I was getting WAY too much spam) & there's no verification so even if you're a robot, you can comment...I've also turned on comment moderation so if you don't want your comment published, just mention that & I won't, your comment can be just between the two of us.
I look forward to hearing from you!!
I'm pretty sure you already know me, or someone has been hacking into your account and leaving comments on my blog! I'm also a single mom by choice, to an 18 month old boy. I have been following you for quite some time, I think E was just born when I started?
ReplyDeleteI never thought of letting people know that they can comment and I won't publish it if they don't want me to--great idea!
ReplyDeleteFellow SMC blogger-ish here. Our kiddos are, what, two months apart? But you already know me so I'll move out the way of the delurking crowd now.
ReplyDeleteWell you know me, too! SMC to 2 girls ages 4.5 and 2.5 who is currently caught in a cosmic streak of very bad luck!
ReplyDeleteA newly single woman (well, separated for almost a year and about to be divorced) from Alberta. We had fertility issues when married (mostly him). I still want to be a mother - so I am strongly considering being a SMC.

I'm a single mom by choice to a 17 year old young man (yes, 17 years not 17 months!)When I had my son there weren't many SMC blogs out there, I love that there are tons of them now. I love reading them because they remind me of when my son was a baby/young child. All of you are amazing wome and I know you hear this all the time, but enjoy your babies/kids they grow up so fast!! We're looking at colleges now but it feels like I just brought him home from the hospital yesterday!
ReplyDeleteHi--delurking here too. I'm also an SMC with a 22 month old daughter living in the Washington DC area.
ReplyDeleteHi. We met at a choice moms workshop when our girls were babies. We follow each other's blogs and are Facebook friends. We only live a couple cities apart but I wish we lived closer. Choice Mom of a 3 year old girl and 6 month old boy.
ReplyDeleteYou know me too - but saying hello - and thanks for doing this - I've met some new people in your comments
ReplyDeleteI've just stumbled upon your blog... just started up my own this week http://singleparentbychoice.blogspot.com/ for now anonymous... placed order for sperm today and hoping to start TTC next month... doing it on my own for this first attempt as have no health insurance (which I plan to blog about!) Was lovely to go back and read your journey... I'm still super new to it all!
ReplyDeleteI'm a senior citizen. I raised my three children as a single parent. They're all grown now and doing well. Reading these blogs reminds me of the courage and strength we women have.
