~~~~~~~~~~
We do seem to be developing a
tradition as we went to the Teddy Bear Picnic again…& had even more fun!!
Just a really great day!
I mentioned recently that Elena
is calling my Mom “Daddy”…She says it, “Da-DEE”…we are trying to get her to say
“Gramma” & we never say Daddy…well almost never, it’s hard sometimes when
we’re distracted…it really is hilarious. I believe Elena senses the irony &
feeds off our reactions…it’s made for some comical situations, like in the
parking lot at Wal-Mart one day, it was raining & I was rushing us into the
store & Elena calls out, “Daddy!!” As my Mom was lagging behind at the car
& I responded, “Yes, yes, she’s coming!!” & got the
craziest look from a woman loading her trunk! It really was funny! Anyway, I
found this card & gave it to my Mom this morning for “Father’s” Day…
Hope you all had a great weekend!!
How cute is she with herbshades on. What is with these kids though? J calls my mom pawpaw. We get those crazy looks in public too! A friend of my mom's said her grandson kept it up for 3 years!
ReplyDeleteLove the card!! You are right, she is probably got in the habit because it gets a response. There are worse things she could call your mom!
ReplyDeleteHappy conception-iversary! It is a very important day and one that should be honored!
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the tip on Playtex sippy cups! I now have one less item on my "Ten Things I Hate About You" list!
Love the card, and pleased you are embracing the name she chose for her Grandmother. It may be nothing to do with Daddy's at all , just a name she has made up - BB calls my dad "Chaps"!
ReplyDeleteHaha, your poor mom! Actually "Dada" is Isaac's favorite word, and his daycare teachers and I have all been correcting him for months every time he says "dada" we say "mama" in response....I'm pretty sure he gets it but thinks it is funny too! Cute picture of E with her bears, looks like a bunch of fun!
ReplyDeleteTotally laughed out loud with this one. Love the teddy beat picnic. Elena looks so tall sitting on the blanket with her lovely long legs.
ReplyDeleteHappy conception-versary day! (love that our daughters share this date :-))
ReplyDeleteP.S
ReplyDeleteAfter writing my comment on your blog, I had to unsubscribe* you on my reader, which made me feel sad!
[* I use google reader and as of July 1st they will no longer exist, so I'm now trying to move all my blogs to my favourites [I still don't have another platform for reading blogs :-(], unsubscribing as I go along]
Last year the women I work with came up with the term "itty-bitty Finn day" for our conception-verary. Makes me laugh every time I hear it.
ReplyDeleteI love the Teddy Bear picnic! Looks like a fun day.
Hi Tiara, I followed your blog, read it regularly, and am in awe with your story! What a great mother you are! Elena is so lucky to have you! Sorry, this is my first comment on your blog.
ReplyDeleteI think, you have a wonderful blog! I have nominated you for a Liebster Award. All the info here: http://camillaandroman.blogspot.com/2013/06/blog-love-liebster.html
Of course, you don't have to accept it. I hope that you'd do because I love it!
Laughed out loud at the "daddy" story. I can only imagine what the lady was thinking - lol.
ReplyDeleteThree years - wow! Yours was one of the first blogs I started reading. Congratulations to you both :-)
