SIX POUNDS 2 OUNCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 32 weeks that's how much my daughter is weighing!!! SIX POUNDS 2 OUNCES!! With 8 more weeks to go & an estimated 1/2 pound weight gain per week...if I make it full term She'll be TEN POUNDS!!!! I know babies that were born full term weighing 6 lbs!!

Okay, so I'm freaking out a little, lol! The good (& reassuring) news is that she is developed well, good strong looking heart, really good amniotic fluid levels, cord blood flow looks really good, placenta is still up front & she's head down...all very reassuring & positive.

I'm going for the Glucose Tolerance test again...even though my blood tests from the last one came back perfectly normal, my last 2 urine tests had high levels of glucose...once could have been a fluke...two is enough reason to double check it again...I'm not really sure if gestational diabetes can develop within 4 weeks after a normal test result but I don't want to take any chances & since my Girl is measuring big, I would rather be safe & check than sorry...I've been really careful with my eating & trying to really limit my sugars...I only gained 2 pounds between my last appointment this one & that was over Christmas so I'm pretty proud of myself.

All of this has made me realize that I need to get my butt in gear & get organized as I could very well have way less than 55 days until Show Time!!

  1. GDM can definitely develop in the 4 weeks between your test and now - it just depends on how your body reacts to the placental hormones. And the 1 hour test is a flawed test - there's a recommendation from an international study group that suggests doing away with the 1 hour completely, which, after looking at the data, I'm fully in support of.

That being said, I really hope you pass!! And OMG, your girl is big! LOL :)

  2. Such a big girl! She sounds like she's developing well though which is super important. I have no clue as to the gestational diabetes stuff but Shannon does so I'll yep to what she wrote, lol! ;)

  3. My babies were very big too. All that matters is that she is growing and you are both doing well. (I will say this, don't buy newborn size diapers--they are a waste of money. Just stock up on size 1's and you will be fine!)

  4. Omg, I thought your baby was already born when I saw that title show up on my blog feed!

Hope you don't have GD, and I hope you really have good child bearing hips! Jokes aside, just happy to see she is doing well :)

  5. I'm with Lara. Size 1 diapers. And those will work until Baby is about 14 pounds, which in the case of my second second child, was about 3 months.

Very exciting to read your post. It brings me back to my first pregnancy and the place I was at emotionally at 32 weeks. Excited and anxious and starting to have trouble sleeping. Enjoy these last few weeks of pampering and attention and alone time, because those things will be rare after Baby arrives. I am just so thrilled every time I read about a new first time mom because I now know what an incredibly miraculous, life-changing event is coming up.

  7. Good luck with your GTT Tiara. Fingers crossed it will be ok. I'm so pleased your daughter is looking strong and growing well, but I have to agree with Jay about the childbearing hips! You may want to forget about newborn sized clothing as well ;)

  9. Reminder: those are just estimates .... on a Monday my estimate was 6 pounds 7 ounces and on Friday she was born weighing 5 pounds 13 ounces. And I had gained all week.

  11. Hi Tiara, thanks for dropping by my blog. I got way too busy to check in in December and over the holidays so I totally missed your comment. I'm so sorry.

But I'm glad to see you are doing well and that your little one is progressing well too. I'm crossing my fingers for you that you pass your GD test!
